How do I use the Email List Cleaner?

The email list cleaner will allow you to clean your entire database from the scraped records that are not relevant to you.

In this tutorial, we will look at the capabilities of the email list cleaner.

On the main GUI, you can select the option to "Auto clean all results once scraping is done".

This function will automatically apply your email list cleaner settings once scraping is done.

You can also perform email list cleaning at any point in time manually by uploading your scraped results.

"Emails must match the domain name" = check to keep only company emails
"Only save one email per domain" = removes multiple role emails to avoid spam
"Remove the duplicated emails" = removes duplicate emails. The Email Extractor does this automatically anyway

"Remove emails longer than [ ] charaters" = very long emails tend to be spam traps and honey pots.

"Enter a list of keywords that the e-mail username must contain" = enter the role emails that must be present in emails. For example info, support, hello, etc.

"Remove entries where websites contain these domains, words and TLDs (notepad file/one entry per line)"

"Remove records containing domains in [ ] Email [ ] Website"

Here you can add your blacklisted domains (do not add prefixes such as https://, http:// or www., just add domain.com), Majestic Million websites such as Microsoft, New York Times and any other big websites that it is a waste of time to be contacting, TLDs (i.e. .club, .xyz, etc.). This is a very powerful filter that is great for removing a lot of potentially spammy and irrelevant entries. I like to remove all the Majestic Million sites because they are simply too big to approach and your list is bound to have big sites simply because they rank for a lot of keywords and will be picked up by most search engines. Just think how many results New York Times ranks for!

You can tell the software to remove results where any of the websites, TLDs or keywords are present in the email and/or the website of the scraped results.

"Remove records that contain any blacklist keywords whether in the title/company name, meta title, and/or meta description"

This is a very powerful filter that will check the meta titles and company name of the scraped results for your blacklisted keywords and remove any results that contain your blacklist keywords. For example, if you would like to skip informational sites and blog posts, you could enter keywords such as blog, best, top, etc. You have to be very creative about the keywords as there may be false positives.

Once you have configured your filters, you can "Apply Filters" to your data manually or you can close the window and check "Auto clean all results once scraping is done" option on the main GUI.

If you have applied the filters manually, you can export the data as CSV and export emails only, depending on what you need.

Note: the set of filters are extremely powerful and should help you to achieve near flawless and highly targeted lists. This is entirely down to your creativity.
